Only seven meal replacement brands in Malaysia have their product named on a JAKIM halal certificate, according to our check on 6 October 2026. Of those seven, FYLL is the easiest to buy — 82 outlets across Jaya Grocer, BilaBila Mart, Alpro, Qra and Seibu — followed by Grainlive at Guardian, Caring and Alpro.
Plenty of shakes print "Halal" on the pack or in the listing title. That is not the same as certification. JAKIM certifies specific products at a specific premises, so the real question is whether the shake itself is named in the certified product list in the Halal Malaysia Directory. This list only includes brands that pass that test, then orders them by how easy they are to buy.
Who this list is for
Muslim consumers who want a meal replacement shake whose halal status they can check for themselves — and shop owners, pharmacies and brand owners who want to know which brands already hold JAKIM certification for their meal replacement products. For a full comparison on sales, nutrition and price, see Malaysia's Top Ten's study of the top 10 meal replacement shakes, the source dataset behind this list.
Eligibility rules
- Sold as a meal replacement. The brand itself markets the product as a meal replacement, as a powder or ready-to-mix pouch. Complete-nutrition milks (for example Ensure), cereal drinks and gym protein powders are out of scope.
- Product named on a JAKIM certificate. We searched each brand by product and brand name in the Halal Malaysia Directory product lists, then confirmed each row live on the JAKIM portal on 6 October 2026. Certification by JAKIM-recognised foreign bodies is not counted here, because it cannot be checked in the local directory.
- Sold in Malaysia through an official store, retail chain or pharmacy.
How we ordered the list
The order is based on how easy each shake is to buy, set before we looked at the results: national retail chains stocking it (1 chain = 6 points, 2 = 10, 3 = 13, 4 or more = 16), plus 3 for an official online store. Ties go to the brand with more Lazada Malaysia units sold (5 October 2026).

1. FYLL Complete Meal
The newest brand on the list (launched 2025) and the easiest to find in a shop. FYLL's store locator lists 82 outlets: BilaBila Mart (38), Alpro Pharmacy (20), Jaya Grocer (19), Qra (4) and Seibu (1). Two products — Complete Meal Dark Chocolate and Houjicha — are named on a JAKIM certificate valid to 15 May 2028. Each meal gives 18g plant protein, 4g fibre and no added sugar (company-stated), at RM13.90 a meal at Alpro. Best for: a complete, high-protein meal you can pick up at the supermarket. Note: we did not find the Matcha and Taro flavours in the JAKIM product list — check the halal logo on the pack.
2. Grainlive
A Penang-made whole-grain shake and the best-selling meal replacement online: 32,212 units sold on Lazada Malaysia (5 October 2026). It has the longest halal list here — 13 whole-grain drink flavours are named on a JAKIM certificate, most valid to 15 May 2028. Stocked by Guardian, Caring and Alpro. A 30g serving gives 114 kcal, 3.6g protein and 1.7g fibre, at about RM4 a serving. Best for: a dairy-free, plant-based breakfast with many flavours. Note: low in protein — closer to a filling grain drink than a high-protein meal.
3. HeyGrains
A cocoa shake with soy and pea protein, 34 whole grains and no added sugar. Its product is named on a JAKIM certificate, and it is sold at Watsons and Alpro. Each 50g sachet gives about 18g protein and 8g fibre (company-stated) — one of the strongest formulas in the category — at about RM7 a sachet. Note: HeyGrains' JAKIM product listing expires on 15 November 2026; check for renewal if you buy after that date.
4. KITSUI Meal Replacement Plus
A local halal wellness brand since 2003, and the cheapest shake here at about RM2.50 a sachet (RM37.75 for 15). Both KITSUI Meal Replacement Plus and KITSUI 39 SuperFood Meal Replacement are named on a JAKIM certificate valid to 15 July 2027. Sold at Watsons and official online stores, with 4,540 units sold on Lazada. Note: KITSUI does not publish nutrition per serving on its product page; a third-party nutrition database lists about 2g protein per sachet.
5. Total Image Meal Shape
A 24-multigrain shake with OatS'elect oat beta-glucan fibre, vegan and lactose-free. The full product name is on a JAKIM certificate valid to 15 September 2027. Sold at Watsons and independent pharmacies, at about 117 kcal per 30g serving. List price RM158 for 750g (about RM6.30 a serving), often discounted. Note: protein per serving is not published.
6. REGIS
A low-calorie shake in Chocolate, Matcha and Taro; the Re-Meal sachet has 25 grains, probiotics and 8g protein (152 kcal, company-stated). REGIS Formula Dietary Food in all three flavours is named on a JAKIM certificate. Sold at Watsons and its official Lazada store, at about RM9.90 a sachet. Note: this JAKIM product listing expires on 31 October 2026. We will re-check it after that date.
7. Flimeal (Flimty)
An Indonesian brand now sold in Malaysia. Flimeal — a mix of 25 multigrains, malt powder and soy protein — is named on a JAKIM certificate valid to 15 May 2027. It ranks last because it is only sold through its official online store; we found no national retail chain stocking it. Note: unrelated Korean products also use the name "Flimeal" on Lazada — make sure you buy Flimty's Flimeal.
Not on the list — and why
- Herbalife Formula 1, BodyKey by Nutrilite (Amway) and Shaklee Life Cinch — the companies state halal certification by JAKIM-recognised foreign bodies (IFANCA or ISA). That is valid for imports, but these products do not appear in JAKIM's local directory, so they are outside this list's scope.
- Fiboo and FortyFour Shake — listings say "Halal", but we found no product of theirs in the JAKIM Halal Directory by product or brand name (6 October 2026).
- Kinohimitsu Royal Black and Herbal Farmer Avocado Multigrain — JAKIM-certified, but registered as grain beverages rather than marketed as meal replacements.
- Ensure and Glucerna — adult complete or medical nutrition, a separate category.
- TITAN RATION (Agym Nutrition) — the maker is JAKIM-certified, but the RATION product is not on its certified product list.
Methodology and limitations
Halal status was checked by product and brand name against our copy of the JAKIM Halal Directory, and every row was then confirmed live on the JAKIM portal on 6 October 2026. Retail chains were checked on brand and retailer sites on 5 October 2026 and may miss some stockists. Nutrition and prices are as stated by the company or retailer on the same date. Halal certificates can be renewed, suspended or lapse — always check the logo and certificate number on the pack you buy. Nothing here is medical advice; if you are pregnant, diabetic or have a health condition, ask a doctor before replacing meals. See KilangHALAL's methodology and more lists in Guides & Lists, including halal bakery and biscuit factories.
