What this site collects, why, and who else can see it. Written from the code rather than from a template, so everything below is a thing that actually happens.

What we collect
When you download the factory list
Your name, company, phone number, email address, and the reason you gave for wanting it. If you ticked the box, we also record that you agreed to be emailed, and when.
Why: This file contains the contact details of thousands of companies. We keep a record of who has taken a copy, and we may reply to you about it.
When you send an enquiry to a factory
Your name, company, email, phone, the product you want made, the quantity, your message, and which factory page you sent it from.
Why: So we can hand you a ready-written message to send, and so we know what buyers are actually asking for. We do not email the factory on your behalf — you send it yourself.
When you read a page
The page, the language, and where you arrived from — a search engine, an AI assistant, a link, or nothing. No name, no IP address, nothing that identifies you.
Why: To know which pages are worth writing more of.
Who else can see it
These are the companies whose systems this site runs on. Each one is named because it can technically see the data passing through it — none of them is sent your details for their own use.
- Vercel — hosts the site and serves every page.
- Neon — the database where the forms above are stored, hosted in Singapore.
- Google Analytics — page views only, and it sets its own cookies. It never receives anything you type into a form.
- Web3Forms — carries the contact form on the About page to our inbox. Only what you type in that form goes through it.
- Our own analytics database — page views are copied to a shared store we keep across our sites, so we can compare them. Same fields as above, still nothing that identifies you.
Cookies
Two of ours. One remembers that you filled in the download form, so you are not asked again for 30 days. One keeps the site owner signed in to the admin page. Google Analytics sets its own, which is the only third-party cookie here.
There is no cookie banner because there is nothing here to consent to beyond measurement: no advertising network, no tracking pixel, no profile of you sold or shared. If that ever changes, this page changes first and the banner comes with it.
What we never do
We do not sell your details, rent them, or pass them to any other company for marketing. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not email you about anything unless you ticked the box asking us to.
How long we keep it
Form submissions stay until you ask us to delete them. Page views are kept indefinitely because there is nothing in them to identify anyone.
Getting your data changed or deleted
Ask, and we will do it. Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act you can ask what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted — use the contact form and tell us the email address you used.
The company records are not ours
Every factory listed here comes from JAKIM's public halal directory, not from the companies themselves — we copy what JAKIM publishes, including the contact details on each record. If a company wants its own entry changed, the change has to be made with JAKIM, and it appears here at the next sync. Tell us as well and we will pass it on.
